Screen flickering can happen on any device, even the Samsung Galaxy S21/21 Plus, one of the most powerful on the market.
It may seem like the problem is with the hardware, but that’s not always the case. We will list below that you can fix the problem with simple workarounds.
How to fix a Samsung Galaxy S21 or S21 Plus screen that keeps flickering
- Attempt a hard reboot. As is customary, we’ll begin with the simplest option. While you are doing so, press and hold the power button as well as the volume down button. Until you see the Samsung logo, keep them pressed. Turn off “Adaptive brightness.” Some users have noticed that the flickering screen problem goes away as soon as they turn off “Adaptive brightness.” Go to Setting > Display to turn it off. Find the setting and turn it off.
- Turn up the brightness. This is another solution that might work. To increase the brightness, all you have to do is adjust the brightness knob. Go to Settings > Display to do this. Move the brightness slider to make the level go up.
- Safe mode: The problem could be caused by one of the third-party apps. To see if that’s true, but the phone into “Safe mode” and turn it on. If the flickering screen problem is gone, one of the apps is to blame. The apps need to be deleted one by one, but if that’s too much work for you, you can do a factory data reset to start over with your phone. To put the phone into Safe mode, press and hold power off button, then press and hold the power icon when it appears. Hold it down until the Safe mode screen comes up. Select “Safe mode”. Check out what the phone does in “Safe mode”. Restart the device as you normally would get out of the mode.
- Change the settings back to the way they were. To reset all settings, click to Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset settings. Finally, tap Reset settings.
- Factory reset: Back up your files before a factory data reset because a data reset will delete everything on your phone, including apps, pictures, videos, and so on. Go to Settings > General Management > Reset > Factory Data Reset > Reset after the backup is made. After the procedure is finished, you can proceed to set up your gadget as if it were purchased yesterday.
If you’ve tried all these things and the screen still flickers, you should go to the Samsung Service Center.
